Community Work

The Group strongly believes in Community participation. Staff awareness is heightened by their knowledge of surrounding happenings and life. Staff members take pride in getting involved in community work.
As the group gets bigger, organized Aid programs are evolving. Several needy children have received an education through our sponsorship program with the Sisters of Cluny for the needy.

MA PAU Sends Support to Community Talent Show

Ma Pau believes in the youths in our communities but clearly understand they need opportunities to express themselves through the means of Sports, Education, and the performing arts and so fully support the work of The South East Port of Spain Cultural Workshop Inc. For the work in development in their community on an Anti- Crime Initiative and for helping youths avoid the pitfalls of negative influences

Single Mother of Four asks Ma Pau for Help

Ma Pau lends assistance to a single mother of four children Anjanette Payne. Her daughter Regine an eleven -year-old SEA student of St. John's school in Diego Martin was diagnosed by Dr. Arlene Wright as urgently requiring corrective surgery for a dental disorder. Anjanette Payne receives a cheque for $2000 for her Love and devotion to her daughter. Ma Pau encourages social development and growth for children, our future leaders.

MA PAU Recognizes a Mother's LOVE.

They say charity starts at home and Nikisha Lee a staff of Ma Pau was a lucky mother who detected her child hyperactive and disruptive tendencies needed professional help. We are in 2008 and still many parents do not realise their child may be suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder (A.D.D) and need professional advice. The term "ADD" is widely used, but the American Psychiatric Association recently changed the name to attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD. Ma Pau wishes to increase awareness in this developmental disorder ADHD which was first widely diagnosed in the 1970s, mostly among young boys.

Ma Pau Supports Glenn's Fight Against Cancer

Ma Pau Members Club is a window of charity for 40yr old Glenn Stodart who has everything to live for and is now a survivor. After a life saving surgery to remove the cancer Glenn must now undergo a costly radiotherapy treatment to ensure no recurrence. A determined Glen has been through it ,all he did not let his cancer slow him down and Ma Pau Members Club is proud to lend support to his passionate fight against cancer.

Mapau donates computer to YMCA

Ma Pau has always contributed to the needs of the community and the YMCA graciously requested a computer for their pre-school to enhance the children learning skills. As always, Ma Pau stretches its hands out to the children, for they understand that these impressionable minds are the future of our nation!

Mapau Foots The Bill, $1000.00 school fees

In a letter, a tired and frustrated sounding Mrs. Hosein explained to Mapau that she is the single parent of her two children, and because of medical problem she has been unable to work for some time. She was desperate for the school fees to pay for her daughter to attend school.

Always a charitable source, The Mapau Member's Club came to her rescue and donated $1000.00 for her daughter's school fees.

MA PAU screen over 500 for PRO team

MaPau's coach Ron La Forest have taken Ma Pau SC to the PRO league. On March 3rd to the 6th, 2008 over 500 potential players were screened to earn a chance to play in the PRO league.
70 out of the overwhelming respond satisfied what was needed for the team. The decision is a tough one and the selected players will be announced shortly.

The team's coach Ron La Forest is confident for a Victory for Ma Pau SC.

Ma Pau Treats Sea Lots

Ma Pau Members Clubs treats the children in the Sea Lots area for the 12th year. This has now become an annual affair; Santa arrived in grand style to over 400 children that were gathered at the Sea Lots Basketball court on Saturday December 15, 2007. There was live entertainment and lots to eat and drink.

Ma Pau Presents Cryil Ross Home

Ma Pau Members Club presents Christmas presents to all the children of the Cryil Ross Home in Tacarigua, at this special time of the year Ma Pau ensures that these children have lots of presents under their Christmas tree.

Ma Pau provides aid to Providence Girls' Catholic School's Swimming Team!

MA PAU Member's club, making huge strides as one of Trinidad and Tobago's leading Charitable Organizations; answered the call of the PROVIDENCE GIRLS' CATHOLIC SCHOOL in the acquisition of uniforms and other equipment for their Water Polo team the club gave a donation of $3900.00 toward this venture.

MA PAU SUPPORTS SHERWIN MARCELLE'S CARNIVAL 2008 CD

Ma Pau supports local artiste Sherwin Marcelle with $12000.00 towards his 2008 Carnival CD. Ma Pau wishes Sherwin all the best for the upcoming Carnival season.

MAPAU SCORES $2280 TOWARDS THE RAIDERS HOCKEY CLUB GOAL!

Ms. Valgene Hinkson, President of the Raiders Hockey Club requested support from the Mapau Membership club to allow them a chance of contending in this year's competition and without inquiry, the Club addressed their appeal. A donation of $2280.00 was presented to the Raiders Hockey Club on behalf of the Mapau Membership Club to help towards airfare and accommodations.

Ma Pau donates $5000 to Help Relieve Marvin's Medical Cost

Marvin George has been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. As a consequence an Electrophysiology Study had to be done and a Defibrillator needed to be implanted in order to save Marvin's life. Subsequent to this diagnosis, time and negligence have steadily deteriorated his condition and as a result, had to be constantly hospitalized in order to stabilize his conditions and alleviate some of the pain he suffers daily. Medical costs which has been estimated at approximately US$70,000.00.

Upon reading the daily struggles that Marvin endured, the Mapau Membership Club without question contributed $5000 towards meeting the costs of for his treatment and extended heartfelt wishes that the sum needed is acquired as expeditiously as possible.

Ma Pau $1000.00 Assistance to Union Road Village Council

Dancers from the Union Road Village Council needed assistance to produce costumes for their performances. Ma Pau Members club donated $1000.00 toward the production.

Ma Pau's $4800 Assistance to Marabella Pioneers Football Team

Ma Pau Members Club donated $4800.00 in football gear to the Marabella Pioneers Football Team. The team was in high spirits after receiving their request for the much needed gear.
